AVEHO LEARNING: EFFECTIVE, AFFORDABLE, FUN

Why learn a language online?

Language learning up until recently has mostly been inconvenient and fixed, not allowing for personalized learning to better cater to the needs of the individual learning the language.

Furthermore, classroom instruction is limited in the fact that not everyone can be free at the particular time that a class is being taught. In the past few years, online instruction has taken off, becoming a gigantic competitor to in class instruction.

Different programs have been created to allow the general population to be able to access classroom knowledge within their homes, such as Khan Academy or iTunes University. The latter truly recreates the classroom experience but at the convenience of the viewer by broadcasting a recorded video of a classroom lesson. This evolution of learning has helped more people learn languages across the globe.

" Aveho Learning - is the only program that fully immerses you in the culture of the country where you learn to speak a second language."

Learn to speak a second language

Learning to speak a second language used to be extremely hard, needing full commitment to boring books or hard classes in large rooms that could not accommodate the needs of every single individual in the class.

The ability to learn foreign languages online has completely revolutionized the way we learn.

Now we are no longer tethered to a classroom at a specific time, but rather we can learn anywhere at anytime, allowing great flexibility to our learning preferences and schedules. Some people consider what is called “e-learning 2.0”, corresponding to “Web 2.0” 1, to be the most useful aspect of online learning (IADIS 13). “E-learning 2.0” refers to connected online learning, the ability to learn online with other people from around the world. This ability to communicate

with people from around the world while you learn is extremely important to language learning capabilities. Who better to aid a language learner than a native speaker of that language?

#1 “Web 1.0” refers to the Internet being used strictly for information transfer, “Web 2.0” refers to Internet being used to connect Web users, and “Web 3.0” refers to what could be the future of the Internet: intelligent search queries, a world-wide repository of data, and 3D modeling services (IADIS 12).

Through this, language learning online has become mostly more successful than classroom instruction, causing many to move online to learn.

For those schools who are not willing to fully commit to online learning, some schools

have begun using “blended instruction” or instruction in both the classroom and online. This

innovative way of learning combines traditional classroom instruction with newer online learning, allowing for extra help for students falling behind. While in class instruction does not allow for personalization of learning experience, online instruction allows slower students to remain behind and learn the foreign languages at their own paces, while students who proceed faster are not held back but rather encouraged to proceed ahead and learn more than what is required for homework. Blended education also allows the teachers to recognize which students need more

instruction in order to succeed, as well as being able to proceed with teaching more information even when school is not in session.

How is Aveho Learning Different

How is this company different from the other language learning companies on the market?

Aveho Learning is a new online language learning company, unlike other competitors on the market today,

In the initial stages, the translator  teaches the student their target language in

concert with their own native language, at least until they know the basics of their target language. The system has a feedback system testing the student’s progression along the way, and will slowly remove the translator as they feel the student is ready to do it on their own.

The student also has the option to proceed without the translators help by clicking on a button that will remove the translator, providing them with full immersion.

Now, being empowered by easily learning the basics of their target foreign language, the foreign language student can learn new words without using their own native language as a crutch. For example, if an English speaker wishes to learn Chinese, the first section (with the translator) would teach them

phrases such as “这是” or "this is" in English. Once they know basics such as that, the next section (without the translator) could teach them different objects using their known vocabulary. For example, being empowered by knowing “这是” means “this is”, when shown a picture of a dog and told, “这是狗” the English speaker would correlate the picture of the dog with the word “狗” by using the same deduction our brain does when we learn our first languages as children

(O’Grady, William).

By providing the user with full immersion, Aveho is empowering our

foreign language students like they have never seen before, arming them with an arsenal of information to break down any language barrier set before them. Not only will the foreign language students be  able to learn the foreign language of their choice easily and without stress, they will enjoy the real life scenery of the native foreign country of their chosen language, all without ever

having to leave the comfort of their own couch.

Immersive online learning is the best medium to transfer education, learners will be able to experience learning in a fun format that provides them

with the best opportunity to succeed in their language learning careers, and then later in life as well. The lasting effects of knowing a language will help children on testing through high school, to procuring a better job later in life, creating a feeling of success from merely learning a second

language. Language learning that is effective, affordable, and fun… Aveho.
